Satinox Weymouth – 12mm – 7cm

Weymouth bit in Satinox from Herm. Sprenger has a well-shaped, forward-tilted mouthpiece that fits well in many horses’ mouths, the 12 mm thick bar takes up as little space as possible, the shank length is 7 cm.

Satinox is made of stainless steel with a satin-finish, which in this case means that the material is specially treated to achieve a surface that fits in the horse’s mouth. The snaffle bit is double jointed and its anatomical shape distributes the pressure evenly over the horse’s tongue. This model Satinox is a bit similar to Sprenger’s other range and is shaped for direct and quick contact with the horse’s mouth. The shape of this weymouth is very similar to the classic HO bit, which is one of Sprenger’s most popular weymouth bit.

As the horse’s mouth tapers downwards and the biting bar is placed below the bridong bit, Sprenger recommends that the biting bar should be 0.5 to 1 cm shorter than the bridong and that the shanks of the biting bar should be close to the horse’s mouth to get the best stability and impact.
