Just like all other Bombers bits, the Loose Ring Elliptical bit is made of sweet iron and brass to promote salivation in the horse. The Bombers Loose Ring Elliptical is an anatomical bit that improves the positioning of the bit and distribution of the pressure in the horse’s mouth whilst reducing tongue pressure. The cheekpieces measure 55 mm in diameter on bit sizes up to 12.0 cm in length and 65 mm on bit sizes from 12.5 cm in length.

Bombers’ philosophy is that bits often put pressure on the tongue resulting in the horse resisting the bit which in turn, results in poorer communication between horse and rider. In order to improve communications, increase control and stop the horse to resist the bit, the pressure on its tongue must be removed. By distributing the pressure across a larger area of the mouth, the pressure is reduced and the horse starts to resist less. This is the concept behind the Bombers bits that we see on the market today.
