KK Weymouth Bit

Sprenger’s KK weymouth with a Sensogan mouthpiece and shanks in stainless steel. The weymouth bit has forward tongue freedom to counteract pressure towards the middle of the tongue and palate, the weymouth bit is 18 mm thick and is available with 5 or 7 cm long shanks. The shorter shanks gives a more direct contact and the longer ones becomes sharper.

A very kind type of Weymouth bit suitable for the more sensitive horse. Sensogan is the latest advanced material to be developed by Sprenger. It consists of Copper, Manganese and Zink which leads to reduced oxidation and an enhanced sense of well-being for the horse.

As the horse’s mouth narrows downwards and the bridoon bit is placed below the weymouth bit, Sprenger recommends that the weymouth bit should be  0.5 to 1 cm shorter than the bridoon and that the shanks of the weymouth bit should be close to the horse’s mouth for best stability and impact.
