Hackamore – Long Shanks

Sprenger’s hackamore has a padded noseband and an adjustable leather curb strap. Hackamore is the most common bitless alternative to a conventional bridle, for example, when the horse has an injury in the mouth area, when you have trouble finding a bit that fits your horse or when you would like to avoid a bit.

The Hackamore is a sharp type of bitting that puts pressure on the horse’s poll, the sensitive bridge of the nose and chin. The Hackamore should therefore only be used by the experienced rider.

The hackamore from Herm. Sprenger has 19 cm long shanks in stainless steel and is equipped with a natural rubber-coated chain over the bridge of the nose and a chain with a nylon strap under the chin.
