The Elliptical Lock Up is a double break bit with a “locked” lozenge in the center. It is sharper than the Control Plate due to it having a smaller surface area. Consequently, a horse using its tongue as a means of pushing against the bit and therefore taking control, will draw back and tuck its chin in, coming back to a better point of control. The lock up effect prevent the “nutcracker effect” felt on the horse’s mouth.
Bombers bits are manufactured in South Africa and are completely handmade, giving a unique opportunity to choose how each detail is to be designed.
